But like I said it can take a long time for the dogs coat to grow He's 3 months old. I would say his basic coat is silky, but the new hair that's growing in could be classified as wirey. This is my first Yorkie and other people have shown me pictures of their Yorkies at 2 months with much more hair than he has. Other that the coast, he has all the right features.
He's adorable. I would say give him some time he is still very young and should just now be leaving his mommy. They both have silky coats but dustees is very thick compared to Sugar Bears.

Yorkies take a year or more to grow out their coat to floor length. There are some with wiry coats that may not ever reach full floor length, though.
But at 6 weeks and even 3 months, it's too early to know for sure if your baby's coat will grow very long.
